Akira can be described, briefly, as a romantic intellectual, though it would seem contradictory. He's the result of tons of old novels, gothic poetry, high ideals and a society where he feels he doesn't fit. To be honest, he's exactly what is expected from a teen, indeed (but don't dare to tell him!)

He has his own good reasons to feel like he feels, of course. It's obvious that he dislikes what happens with his family and being trapped in a little village, but he found a way to take advantage of it in some way: building a self image of some kind of "tortured soul", like a character in a novel. He likes to be the different guy, the outsider. 

It's easy to talk with him, however. He's polite and the only way to make him run away from you is to bore him with trivial conversations or childish complaints for a long time. Akira doesn't feel embarrassed of speaking in public or talk with strangers. He has some friends and many acquaintances, though he prefers go on his own way, most of the time. His solitude is voluntary and he's comfortable with it.

As there are women who like to act like if they lived in a soap opera, he does the same but with gothic novels. He likes bad endings, heartbreaks, honesty, honor, loyalty… He’s an idealist. He looks for true love, but at the same time he doesn't want to find it; he wants true friends, but at the same time he avoids intimacy. Reach those things would break the fantasy and would force him to face the sad reality.

He's intelligent and he knows it, but he abuses a little of this and can be annoying. He has a warped sense of humor and a big mental agility. At the same time, he's stubborn and passionate: though he likes the intellectual world, he moves by his feelings. He is easily blinded by strong emotions. Akira likes to use odd words to talk, but at the moment of truth, he doesn't think: he feels and acts. For this reason, he uses to be very cruel when he's angry and makes others suffer with his cutting words. On the other hand, if he tells you how deeply he loves you, believe him: at least in that moment, he feels it exactly how he's saying it.

Under all this image of intelligent and mature man, there's only a young who is afraid of the real world of adults. That's why he hides behind Internet, his fantasies, books and poses. He doesn't know what will be of him in the future, and it scared him a lot. He lives his life day after day avoiding the future, because he barely knows what he wants to do with his life.

As I said, deep down, he's only another normal teen.

✔ Dark music. He likes it when he’s alone or needs to feel isolated. It relaxes him.

✔ Internet. He understands Internet like a window to the world and, living in a little village with little chances to go out, Internet is almost a need.

✔ Spend a lot of time in front of his pc (chatting with interesting people, mostly u///u).

✔ Hiking and other outdoor activities, thanks to his grandfather. Now that his ankle is still recovering, he misses it.

✔ Painful loves. He’s a romantic, after all.

✔ Going on his own. He likes people, but he just prefers everything his way.

✔ Women older than him.

✔ Learned people.

✘ Hypocrisy, keep up appearances.

✘ Childish girls. Those kind of girls exasperate him.

✘ His face at pictures. He's not photogenic, and his irregular dentition doesn't help.

✘ Teachers reprimanding him because of his low grades, telling him that about "you can put more effort" or "I know your intelligence is too big for this 5 in the examn"

✘ Trivial conversations. He joins those conversations sometimes, but he bores a lot.

✘ Being wounded. It limits his actions very often.

[B I O G R A P H Y]:

Akira's story begins with his grandparents.

Ryusei and Tsubaki Genji were a modest couple of young villagers. Tsubaki inherited her family's old farm, a big building what was almost in ruins. Together, they both worked hard to restore the old farm. Their main idea was to have a house to live, but the farm was too big and they didn't need so much space. They were using a part as a farm, but the other half was empty. It was hard to clean and maintain, so one day Ryusei had an idea: to convert that side of the farm in a little in. This way, customers payment could pay at the same time the costs of the farm. The village was starting to become famous and, from time to time, some tourists came. While some neighbours were took advantage of the wine industry, they offered to the tourists a place to sleep.With time and lots of love and effort, they opened a little restaurant open to villagers and visitors. Tsubaki's food was very appreciated and, little by little, the business grew up.

They only had a son, Hiroto. Maybe for this reason, they were always so indulgent with him. Tsubaki and Ryusei worked harder to assure him everything he wanted. Ryusei taught him how to rule the inn, because someday he was going to inherit it. It was a familiar business, with the reminiscence of homemade food, a loving treat to customers, etc.

Hiroto changed it all.

When he inherited the inn, he was already married with Sango Genji and had two children, Shun and Yuki. They lived with Ryusei and Tsubaki on the same place, because the farm was still big enough. Hiroto saved money and, with it, remodeled the whole inn into a more sophisticated place for the guests. Even there were two saunas availables for an extra price.

As the business was growing, Hiroto and his wife's relationship got worse. From time to time, he had to travel to negotiate stays with other companies, negotiate the celebration of congresses about agriculture and wine, etc. But, sometimes, his short breaks were more frequent and Sango suspected (correctly) that he was cheating on her. Sango was terrified of the idea of a divorce. It was the most embarrassing thing that a woman could suffer. Their marriage was almost broken, but thanks to Hiroto's parents they gave a second chance to their relationship. And from this second chance, Akira was born. Everything went fine for a long time. One day, because of their age, Ryusei died and a few years later, Tsubaki.

Despite all, things turned like always. Sango never forgave his husband, and they had periods of calm and periods of frequent discussions. Things were calm and normal the most part of the time in their lives, but it was obvious for all the family that Hiroto and Sango didn't love each other like the first time. But appearances were the most important, even more when you rule a familiar business. So they drove their lives separately, but living under the same roof.

The familiar relation is not really bad, anyway. There are bad periods from time to time, that's the key. The only who seems not to fit 100% in this life of smoke and mirrors is Akira, who has ideals about truth and honesty. But, anyway... on their own weird way, they get along quite good the most of the time.

[F A M I L Y/F R I E N D S]: 

o (Father, 49) Genji, Hiroto. Hiroto is the perfect businessman, but a horrible father. He married and had descendants because it was what a respectable man was supposed to do, and he carried out. He never was loyal to his wife and everybody at home knew. He really wasn't a bad man. He just acted as the world expected from a man like him... for better and for worse. He's a big man with a good sense of humor.

o (Mother, 45) Genji, Sango. As cold as Akira’s father and exactly as polite as him. She was raised under the idea of perfection and the importance of appearances, and she fits on the role that everyone expected to her perfectly. Her relationship with Akira and his siblings is cold, with a bit of resignation. As the rest of the family, she's specially hurt with Akira, because he's the only one who faces her. Ironically, at the same time, he's the one who she loves most.

o (Big Brother, 29) Genji, Shun. His brother is sometimes his friend, sometimes his headache. Shun is ambitious and cunning, and wants to inherit the business to sell it and create his own project with the money. Akira and him have a good relationship the most of the time, after all. The same with Yuki, though their relation is better because they are too similar and play the same game of fake appearances that Akira doesn't accept. They both suffered a motorbike accident recently after crashing against a lost cow, and both ended slightly injured. Shun laughs a lot of the anecdote, though he has an arm broken.

o (Big Sister, 24) Genji, Yuki. Yuki seems to be a good mother, polite and graceful. She lives in a good marriage and her first son has born a year ago. She's almost perfect at the eyes of everyone, but it's only appearance. Her family is ok (not like her parents') but she's cold, calculator and ambitious. Akira is the only one who tells truths to her and breaks that appearance of perfection and kindness. Yuki acts with everyone as a second mother, an acts exactly like Sango. When she's not on guard, she's almost friendly. She likes to protect those who she loves (on his own way) and be the perfect wife.

o (Grandfather and Grandmother, deceased) Genji, Ryusei / Genji, Tsubaki. His relationship with his grandparents was excellent. They were kind and loving people, their neighbours had a good opinion of them. Akira loved them both, but his grandfather was special to him. Ryusei was the one who teach everything what he knows about nature, who gave long walks along the forest since he was a child, who played with him tirelessly. Ryusei was special to Akira, and Akira was special to him. Though it happened when he was barely 10, his death was the worst thing he ever suffered and he's still not recovered totally.

o (Ex-girlfriend, 17) Hishikawa, Reiko. Reiko wasn't Akira's first girlfriend, but as if it were. She was the biggest love of him. Her parents and Akira's parents know each other and, one day, Akira's parents forced him to invite her to one of his birthday parties (15th). And it wasn't as terrible as he feared. Reiko turned out being a girl totally different of the others; she was clever, sarcastic and educated. She was the only one who could shut Akira's mouth for the first time and he loved it. They were neighbours and both expend a lot of time together after school classes. She was like one of those characters that Akire loved and thought never would find on the real world. She was perfect. Though she wasn't: one summer, he found her cheating on him with a boy he didn't know. Apparently, all his friends knew it and none told him. And Reiko didn't seem to be very repentant. Since that moment, he promised himself that nobody was going to break his heart anymore. That's the reason why, though he has some friends and many acquaintances, he hasn't got close friends.

o (Storekeeper of a little grocery, 26) Nozaki, Toya. Toya works on a grocery. She moved recently to the village and it seems that she has no family nor friends yet. One day, she was transporting some boxes to the shop and Akira found her. One of the boxes broke and it was a totally mess. Akira helped her to clean everything and, since that moment, they are good friends. To be honest, it could be said that she's the only one that he calls "friend". As it was obvious, he fell in love of her and she knows it. He has confessed a few times, but she rejects him because she didn't feel the same and is more older than him. Anyway, Akira still tries. She's not especially beautiful nor smart, but she's absolutely kind and loving and that melted Akira's cold heart. Or maybe he's only desperate to have someone to love...

[A D D I T I O N A L  I N F O]

- He wants to become a famous writer someday. Oscar Wild is his inspiration.

- He suffered a motorbike accident with his brother and his ankle broke. Doctor said he will recover, but with time.

- He’s not a good student in general. It’s not for a lack of intelligence; but for a lack of motivation. His marks are not bad enough to fail a subject, but they're close...

- On the contrary, he's really good at Literature, the only subject he really enjoys.

- His lateral incisors are a little over the rest of the teeth. When he was a child, he had to use braces. He hated them, so he always did what he could to remove them by himself. His parents were so tired of spending money uselessly that they finally gave up.

- Everyone says he has a beautiful voice. He’s good at reciting poetry and narrating tales.

- He's myopic. He has around 4.5 dioptres on each eye, so when he doesn't wear his glasses he's almost a mole! He’s been wearing glasses since he was 9.

- Akira writes in a few Internet forums. His digital identities are unknown, because... because... well! He's not one of those nerds! Isn't he?

- He never learnt how to ride a bike! His parents tried to teach him, but he refused to try after falling too many times. "I don't need a bike while dad carry us on the car" he said when he was 6 years old. His parents tell this story in every family reunion.

- He’s the biggest fan of The Simpsons of the world, for sure.

- He dreams with leaving the village someday, though it scares him at the same time.

- He uses a ton and a half of hair lotion to keep his hairstyle every morning.
